SERIES SATURDAY: Legend by Marie Lu

Series Saturday is a new meme created by us to introduce readers to new amazing series we love as well as just fangirl about them!

So today's spotlight:

Legend by Marie Lu

I fell in love with Marie Lu after reading this series. It's a great dystopian trilogy but it came out at the same time as more popular books like The Hunger Games and Divergent (which are awesome as well) so they went almost unnoticed. They deserve more love!

Legend book blurb
What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.
So far Hannah hasn't read the series (yet) but she needs to just because. I did read all the books though and I think it is not fair that not a lot of people has read them... now everyone talks about Marie Lu's newest series The Young Elites, which is also superb by the way, but this one got a bit forgotten. These books deserve more recognition and love! Day needs more love as well, he's badass and June is not a bad female lead either. I actually think she makes less stupid decisions than a lot of other "strong" female characters.
Legend, Prodigy, and Champion have good character development, action-packed plot, some romance, traitors, pandemics! (as in disease), etc! It offers a lot of entertainment and if you're like me you may finish the whole series in a weekend hehe.

So let's give Legend trilogy by Marie Lu some love! ♥
