LIFE and DEATH: true gift or just a seek for money?

I think I will not be wrong if I say there is not a single reader left among you who has not heard of the Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined. Let's be honest, half of you most likely either have the book already or are really looking forward to reading it! Now, I am not here to judge or point fingers at people, after all Twilight got many people into reading and I have made my peace with it long time ago. But today I want to talk about something else, today I want to ask you:

Do you think Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined was a true gift to the twilighters or just another way to earn money?

Alright, so I am no journalist or legit book critic and so please take this post just as my way of trying to discuss this topic with book lovers, be it twilighter or anti-twilighter, all opinions are equally important as long as you are polite!

The thing that bothers me is if Stephanie Meyer released Midnight Sun or let's say any other book that continues the series I would not be writing about it. But she did not. She released a reimaniged version of very first book Twilight. No, as many of you have originally expected it is not LGBT version, it is simply a gender switch aka Bella is now male Beau, Edward is female Edythe, Rosalia male Royal and so on. Let's face it the names are terribly chosen. But before I even read about the book and a few chapters into it what worried me was this, when Stephenie Meyer was asked in 2013 about Twilight, these were the answers she gave:

Now, 2013 was a long time ago, movies are done also so maybe she genuinely missed Twilight, why not? But what is sad for me is that instead of actually writing a new story, Life and Death is really just a copy paste of the original book with switched genders and a few new scenes making the 10th Anniversary book cost over 20 pounds in UK. Maybe it is a pressure from publishers, maybe it is them that really wanted money and not Stephenie Meyer but I somehow just do not see this 'new' story being as a gift to the fans. And what worries me most is that after watching endless comments on twilighters being so happy about this new book...I still have not seen a single review that says it is genuinely good. So really it is for you to decide which side you are on and if you justify this book as a new originally story in Twilight series or if you agree and are sad as me that the purpose of this new book is to just empty our wallets.
